My name is Madi Buck, and I'm on a journey to merge my passions for environmental science, health, and hospitality into a purpose-driven career. I kickstarted this journey at the University of Texas, where I delved into Environmental Science and Health & Society, setting the stage for my future endeavors.
California beckoned with its promise of eco-conscious living, leading me to a winery/biodynamic farm where I immersed myself in the intersection of nature and sustainability. This experience ignited a fire within me, propelling me towards Getaway, a hospitality startup championing the art of disconnecting amidst nature's embrace. For nearly four years, I traversed the United States as part of their development team, scouting idyllic properties and negotiating acquisitions, spending two of those years traversing the landscapes in a van before anchoring myself in San Diego, California.
In 2023, I embarked on my entrepreneurial venture, delving into hospitality consulting with two distinct groups. This endeavor not only broadened my horizons but also allowed me to gain invaluable insights into diverse hospitality development projects across the globe. Now, I find myself embarking on a new chapter in the Netherlands, collaborating with a Dutch group, as I continue to weave my expertise into the fabric of sustainable hospitality.
My mission? To intertwine my passion for connecting people with nature and my commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles in the hospitality industry. Through my work, I aim to carve out spaces where guests can disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with themselves and the environment.
